Acceptable Use Policy
The rules that keep traffic on the Vireon network lawful, wanted and safe.
Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER — insert date]
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all customers and to all traffic carried over Vireon Telecom services, including voice, SMS, numbering and platform services. It forms part of the applicable service agreement. Customers are responsible for ensuring their own end users and downstream customers comply with this AUP.
2. Lawful use
Services may be used only in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the originating and destination markets, including telecommunications regulation, consumer-protection, data-protection and sanctions law. Customers must hold, and maintain, any licences, registrations or consents their own activities require.
3. Voice traffic
The following are prohibited: calls with falsified, misleading or unauthorised caller-line identification, including unlawful CLI spoofing; artificially inflated traffic and revenue-share fraud schemes; unlawful robocalling or automated calling that violates destination-market rules; call-back schemes and other arrangements designed to manipulate settlement; and any traffic pattern intended to disguise the origin, nature or volume of calls.
4. Messaging traffic
The following are prohibited: unsolicited messaging in violation of destination-market rules; messages with misleading sender IDs or content; phishing, smishing and fraud; content prohibited by law in the destination market; grey-route delivery designed to evade carrier agreements; and SMS pumping or other artificially generated messaging. Customers must honour opt-outs and maintain records of consent where regulation requires.
5. Network integrity
Customers must not: probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the network without written authorisation; interfere with service to other customers; misuse credentials or exceed authorised capacity in a manner that degrades the platform; or resell services in breach of their agreement. Customers must maintain reasonable security over their own systems and credentials and notify Vireon promptly of suspected compromise.
6. Enforcement
Vireon may monitor traffic patterns for compliance, fraud and network-protection purposes. Where this AUP is breached, or where Vireon reasonably suspects fraud or unlawful traffic, Vireon may — proportionately to the risk — filter, suspend or block affected traffic or services, with notice where practicable. Repeated or serious breaches may result in termination in accordance with the applicable agreement. Customers remain liable for charges arising from traffic sent through their accounts, as set out in their agreement.
7. Reporting abuse
Suspected abuse of Vireon services should be reported to [PLACEHOLDER — abuse@ email address]. Reports are investigated and handled confidentially to the extent possible.
